Hello there,
I have Lower Rear Lamp Guards fitted to my year 2000 Discovery II TD5 (Land Rover Part No. STC50027). Unfortunately I've damaged one of the Fischer-like attachment "nuts" which hold the light guard to the bumper. Could someone please tell me where I could get a couple of these retaining devices (I've no idea what they're called!)? They seem to be an expanding plug which fix the light guard to the bumper when a 25mm long, 5mm diameter bolt is screwed into them.
I'll attempt to attach a sketch of the plug which was bent, broken and contorted during extraction.
Thanks for any help,
David

Hi,i had the same problem on my D2,if you look on ebay,or in B&Q,you will find screw in plasterboard plugs, buy a packet of these, screw one into the hole in the bumper and jobs a good un.worked for me.;)
here is some on ebay.
plasterboard drywall nylon plugs self drill fixings fixing rawl plug | eBay

but go to B&Q to get the right diameter to fit the hole in the bumper. oops, just realised where you live, forget B&Q then.

Hello there, gemsdad!
Thank you very much for your brilliant idea. I'm sure this will e a satisfactory solution. I'll be off to the local DIY store tomorrow morning in the hope of picking up a packet of plasterboard plugs. I've already found some on eBay, but the seller asks silly money for the postage.
Thanks again.
Best wishes, David

ok,i hope you did not think i was joking,it is a serious answer to your dilema,if you have no luck,pm me and i will try and help you resolve the issue.:),in fact just send me your details and i will send some to you.

That would be tremendous! Thank you very much indeed!
I feel sure I'll be able to find something in the morning. The one thing that worries me is the size of the hole they fit into, 10mm.
Will be in touch in the next day or two to let you know how I've got on.
Thank you, David
