As part of security measures I'm taking for my Landy, I'm fitting an isolator switch.
This has become more complicated and difficult than I expected.
There is a large and medium wire which goes to the live on the battery.
I was told that I need to fit the switch to the live feed, cutting the wire and attaching the ends to the terminals on the switch.
Another engineer said I should attach it to the negative wire.
There is only one negative wire, but it is further away from where I will mount the switch on the front of the passenger seat box. So extra cable will be needed for this.
Is there a reason to connect it to the live?
The problem with the live is that I will need to connect both cables.
I cannot find a supplier of the ring terminals I need either, soldering ring terminals would probably be best.
Any suggestions?
