Hi all - in the dim and distant past I've owned a 74 Range Rover V8, a Range Rover V8 injection (with lpg conversion), a Range Rover diesel (VM engine), a Discovery diesel, and even a Series 1 Landy pick-up with a Harvey-Frost recovery crane, but that was all a long time ago.......and now I've just acquired a 2003 Freelander TD4 as I was missing having a compact SUV - I'd run a Honda CRV as a general hack and tow-barge for years but it eventually wasn't worth spending on. I'd helped my step-granddaughter buy a Freelander a year or so ago and it seems to have been a good vehicle so I looked around for one - and bought one from salvage which seemed to have little damage - when I contacted the owner he advised that it was written off after the spoiler which had been glued on top of the tailgate had been knocked off in a car wash.....its in the boot!

Given this devastating amount of damage, I'm pretty happy with the purchase, but of course it has at least one fault - hence my finding myself on here. The fault appears to be the common TCS and Hill descent lights on as soon as I hit the brakes, so after a little browsing I guess I'm ordering a brake light switch ;)

Anyway, thanks for the add, and doubtless I'll be back again ;)

Its a great forum - all I had to do was read on here about the "3 Amigos" and the fault has almost cured itself ;) Still pops up occasionally, but generally I'm happy. I'm used to my Alfas having what we call S*H*I*T (Self-Healing Italian Technology) but didn't realise Land-Rover utilised it too ;)

Freelander's only have faults so they can spend more time with their owners.
