So just a quick question as I can’t see any FIP removal instruction in RAVE but as the shaft is located in the timing gear with a woodruff and the pump body is held in with 2 bolts – can I remove the pump without disturbing the timing gear?

So the pump can be worked on away from the car – or even replaced with a pump from a donor P38?

There is a removal procedure in the fuel system diesel section. Was looking at it the other day

No definately not, you must fit special tool to hold sprocket in place. Or tensioners will pull sprocket out of position.

Be careful, just looked at Egay and none of the tools i have found up to now seem correct. You need LRT-12-119. Google it or look at RAVE. None of the ones i have seen on Egay so far look like mine. The threads for screwing onto the sprocket should be on the inside of the tool not the outside.
