Before anyone asks, yes I did do a search!

Has anyone successfully re-soldered the expansion pipe pintle on a 2.5 110 N/A radiator?

Were there any problems?

use 50/50 solder clean very good, use acid flux and propane torch low flame. Done that on several copper rad tanks and hose fittings for different makes

I have a propane plumbers blowlamp, a tin of etching flux and some plumbers solder ... and of course loads of wire wool for cleaning it up.

Just wondered if there was a chance that I might loosen some of the vanes with it being on the header?

If not, then I'll give it a go tomorrow.

you talking about the radiator hose nipple? needs fixing...... wire brush works good for clean up..... and concerned about loosen something use a very wet rag as a heat sink

Rad removed, cleaned up re-soldered and put back on ... And I broke a jubilee clip and haven't got another to replace it!!

Got every other size but!!

Sod's Law!!
 
Eventually cadged a small jubilee clip, stuck it on, took her for a short run, and all seems to be OK!

Used etching flux and plumbers solder, so fingers crossed, no more problems!
