Just a quick hello to all forum members from a newcomer.

I have just taken a great leap of faith and bought myself a Land Rover. I'm not an entire newbie to the Marque, it's just that the last one I drove was a Series IIA pick-up. Oh, and that was 30 years ago.

So having paid of my mortgage, I decided that my mid-life crisis didn't involve Harley's or Hairdresser's cars, but getting my knuckles all bloody and oily once again.

Anyway, having looked around, and scratched my head as to why there was no longer 3 sticks on the transmission tunnel on these new fangled jobbies, I took the plunge and bought a 110 Station Wagon Defender. It's 7 years old, so just a young baby in Land Rover years and I'm just having a bit of fettling done before I pick it up next week.

I won't be giving up my daily sensible drive just yet, and the truck will be used for camping and responsible off roading.

However,I already have a list of jobs which need doing- Waxoyling everything; clutch claw; extended seat runners; smaller steering wheel and a better alarm/immobiliser. And all that's just to improve driving comfort and in order that I will be able to sleep at night without some scroat nicking it.

Bye for now
