EOBD Port

Hi all

I have a 97 4.6hse and was wondering if these vehicles are equiped witha EOBD (European On Board Diagnostic) port. I know manufacturers were starting to put this in from 1996 onwards with the EOBD II on 2001 models. If a 1997 model does have one any one have any idea where this would be located.

the OBD port is on the passenger side. sit in the passenger seat and put your legs out straight. above your right foot right underneath the dash is the OBD port. it will only allow very basic diagnostics though and i think the only values you can read with it are like the oxygen sensors etc.

to diagnose or change or reset any other problem (like resetting the EAS) requires something like the offical LR computer named Testbook. Unoffical diagnostic computers systems that work are Rovacom / Rovacom Lite (ROVACOM LITE by Blackbox Solutions Ltd) and Autologic (Diagnos - Independent Vehicle Diagnostics) - be prepared to shell out for the kit though.
