I bought my 90 last summer which apparently had been "professionally" converted to a disco 200tdi. I put my engine back in today with new 200tdi engine mounts but it doesn't sit right. The ones I took off do not look like standard land rover parts? There seems to be a gap under the LH side mount and nothing I do will level it out? Has anyone else had the same problem and how can it be sorted? I'm not even sure which brackets are on the block. Here are some photos:

When i put my 200tdi disco engine in my 90 i used the 19j engine mounts mate... not the 200tdi disco engine mounts.

So the mounts you should have should be the 2.5td mounts..

I think

No, unfortunatly searched all over the internet and can't find them, It was almost as though the old ones are softer so took up the angle by squashing

I'm not sure what's what on the engine or the chassis to be honest. What would the solution be without having to do more welding to the chassis?

Im not sure mate, some 1 will be here soon to give the correct answer I'm sure. Tomorrow ill go take a look under mine and take some pics, see if they match up to your mounts as if i remember correctly the 200tdi mounts were huge compared to the TD ones.

I also have to replace my rubber mounts which i have in my 90 but ive been putting it off so i could end up with the same problem if like you say, the rubber has softened and taken the angle lol.

Those look like converted mounts made to fit.

If your 200 sits back near bulkhead then the 19J mounts will fit:)

I have just recently replaced my engine mount rubbers in my 2.5td converted to defender 200tdi by the last owner as the 200tdi mount rubbers ( disco ) i think where shot and the exhaust was touching the gearbox and chassis so I replaced them with series diesel ones ( square type ) which seem to have solve it, gearbox mount rubbers need doing now which I will do this month as I have to service the 90 before we go to billing in a couple of months time :)
