So, I went to Tong for a play day and wading through the lakes - went down the left side to hit the deep water holes :(

So, strange things are happening when I hit the brake pedal:

1. It now appears to slow down when hitiing said pedal (not a problem)
2. My reverse light comes on along with both brake lights
3. Rear fog light lamp indicator is lit on dashboard when brake pedal is pressed
4. All lights dim and windscreen wipers slow down when you weigh anchor

Fuse box (just) managed to stay dry, and averything else is ok. Just worried about the wiring though - Fog light and reverse light are the wrong way round for factory fit thingies, and I fear a bit more than an earthing problem here (6 weeks to MOT). Is there an obvious answer, or am i gonna have to chase the wiring through and remove yards of Tandy green multicore "twist and tape" additions, or should i just ask yella what he did to the wiring when he messed with it?

I had the fog light warning light coming on with me brakelights bit, it turned out to be a faulty live wire sdhorting out against summat else in the off side rear loom behind the crappy rubber flappy bit underneath.

Cheers, i thought it might be a short. Had a quick chase as much as you can do in the field when light is failing, but next weekend looks busy... Problem is, my rear is a nice bit of 18mm marine ply lining :(

Right, will do the easy bits first. I'll remvove them ally bits that cover things up as the wires almost pass into the rear tub an take it from there. Could be worse, Malcolm had his fuse box waterlogged and had to drive home with nothing working!!!

An a pain in the arse. I've just re-fitted my loom its got another four layers of insulating tape, clipped down to bloody hell an I'm going to blather all the connectors with silicone grease when I plug them together.
