Hi all, I am installing some carling switches for various add ons I have installed and wanted to ask the more experienced electriky people on here there opinion before I went ahead. I am putting a group of 6 in, in a 6 gang mount will I be ok to piggy back ( I think that's the term) the side light feed and the earth ? as in run the wire from one switch to the next then to the main side light feed or in the earths case a suitable earth point on the bulkhead, or does each switch need its own separate feed.

cheers Ian

Cheers both that's made life easier, I gather the earth is just to earth the switch so can be done the same as well ?

cheers Ian

Bear in mind that all of your add-ons will be running through the one fuse, and wire that was only designed for side lights.

If you're going to run anything more than an Amp or two I'd suggest picking up 12V much nearer to the battery, and either fusing or using relays to protect each load separately - and wires that are up to the job.

If your switches have lighting, wire that to the other instrument lighting.

Hi boguing yep have got a split charge set up with a fuse board so each add on will have its own fuse and relay and earthed accordingly, was only using the dash lights feed (red/white wire) for illuminating the leds when the lights were on. And sorry didn't mean the side light feed  as said in the 1st post mean't the dash instrument lights.
cheers Ian
