I have been doing alot of reading and have still not really come to an answer i fully understand for my situation.

In basic, can anyone tell me:
1) is it worth replacing the engine driven cooling fan with elctric< ken lowe etc
2) is there really any benefit, as BMW must have deemed the standard good enough
3) I have read about extra oil coolers for the gear box and engine, but cannot find them for sale? What/ Where are they?

hopefully someone can help or direct me.

Thanks
Sam

What Car? petrol or diesel?? On the P38 diesel the aircon fans will provide enough cooling if the cooling system is in good order to dispense with the viscous fan, it saves a bit on fuel especially in winter. On the V8 they are a good back up but the viscous should be left in place. I can give you a mod to use the aircon fans for cooling.
Kenlowes these days seem to be unreliable as well as being very expensive. Several threads over the years detailing failures.

IMO extra oil coolers are not necessary unless you live in the Sahara.
