Hi all,

I would like to get a bit more power from my 2010 Freelander 2.2 td4e and have been reading on the forum about an EGR modification but don't know if this applies to my engine or not? Can one of you clever folks please advise me? does this work on my car and is it worth doing? I read lots about the freelander 1 but can't see much on the 2?

I have had the car from 20k, now done 43k. It seemed really crisp and sharp on throttle response and had a bit more power when I first had it, but this seems to have gone. It runs fine and the dealer checked the usual things under warranty but they said everything checked out. I tow a caravan so a bit more grunt and economy would be great.

I was also thinking about getting it chipped to improve power and torque but I am conscious of making the right choice (as there are lots of plug-in versions and suppliers) so would really appreciate some info on results if you have done this and recommendations?

Any help, advice or experience would be really appreciated, thanks.

Personally I would go for a remap. It is out of warranty now, so no issues there. There are many companies out there to chose from. I used Terrain Vehicles in Bexhill on Sea for my Freelander 1, I used Shark Performace in Mansfield for my Skoda Yeti.
