"THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(VARIOUS GREEN LANES, GARTON ON THE WOLDS AND WETWANG AREA)
(PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES EXCEPT FOR SOLO MOTOR CYCLES AND
EXCEPT FOR ACCESS) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2015
1. The East Riding of Yorkshire Council are to make an Experimental Road Traffic Regulation
Order on 20 August 2015 for a period of 6 months to introduce a Prohibition of Motor Vehicles
restriction except for solo motor cycles (2 wheeled motor cycles without a sidecar) and except for access
to properties/land where there is no other means of access. The Green Lanes affected are as follows:-
Road Extent
York Road (Green Lane) Its entire length, between Sledmere Road and Garton
Hill/Road, a distance of 2980 metres

Green Lane, Wetwang Between Malton Road and Sledmere Road, a distance of 1520
metres

Garton Balk – North of A166
Elmswell Road
Between Elmswell Road and Driffield Road, a distance of
2740 metres

Elmswell Wold Farm Access Road West of Elmswell Hall/farm access, a distance of 230 metres
Garton Balk – South of A166
Elmswell Road
Between Station Road and Elmswell Road, a distance of 2090
metres

Green Lane, Garton on The Wolds Section west of farm access road, a distance of 420 metres
2. The order will be experimental and will be operative for 6 months and a permanent order may be
made immediately following the 6 month period. Any objections will be included for consideration
before a decision is made whether or not to make a permanent order.
3. A copy of the draft Order, relevant plan and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to
make the Order are available for inspection at the Driffield Customer Service Centre, Council Offices,
West Garth, Driffield, YO25 6TP and Beverley Customer Service Centre, Cross Street, Beverley, HU17
9BA. A copy of the street notice and relevant plan have been placed on the Council’s website
(http://www2.eastriding.gov.uk/environme ... gulations/).
Any enquiries relating to these proposals may be made to Traffic and Parking
Services, The Directorate of Environment and Neighbourhood Services, (Ref:TW), Beverley Depot,
Annie Reed Road, Beverley HU17 0LF telephone (01482) 395573 during normal office hours.
4. Objections to the Experimental Order, stating the grounds for objection, should be e-mailed to
[email protected] or sent in writing to The Head of Legal & Democratic Services, The
Directorate of Corporate Resources (MG/74291), County Hall, Beverley by the 20 February 2016.
