I just been playing around with this free software which looks great, however I had some question for some of you that have already successfully used and cleared eas faults.
Firstly, I just get the EAS fault appear on my dash and the the height switch has all lights on solid. It is not on bumpstops, but at normal ride height.
I bought the cable from ebay and the usb adaptor too. Position switch to 2,and plug in cable, I hear a beep and then i "Initialize" get a sequence of tx which are FF and 1 and on the Rx I get FF and 0 almost alternate- is thi what I should be getting? or should the Rx be all FF?
Secondly I tested the relay in the fusebox no20, shorted across 2 terminals and I can hear the pump run ok.
I do get the software crashing a lot. Com port is 3.
Now I select the Read Fault, It comes back with a bunch of stuff which is saying valves and ports are stuck all the ports. Is this possible? It is telling me that the all the heights are locked or stuck , there are 2 or 4 hidden faults too.
Am I doing something wrong? Come on you clever people help me out here!
Its ****in it down right now but I need to get this sorted. I havn't fiddled with anything under the passenger seat yet- i cant get the frikening plastic clips out!

If you go to here:

Range Rover EAS Reset Tools

and scroll down the left hand side you will get to two videos, EASunlock Software operation and EAScalibrate Software operation.

If you play them both back, I think you will find the answer to some if not all of your questions.

tried so many times to sync that now the battery is flat...I cant understand why the it wont unlock the fault- I can only think if the serial to usb is not right..? they are all the same arnt they? does anyone have one i can borrow?

Howdy all, I am the author of the software.
You are correct, you need to be receiving only FF back into the Rx buffer. If you are getting anything else, there is a comm port issue that needs to be configured. If you are not receiving FF in the Rx buffer, then none of the other commuincations with the EAS will be correct.

The FAQ on my website goes over the issues in greater detail.

Make sure the USB to Serial Adapter drivers are installed.
Also you can reconfigure the comm port that the USB to Serial Adapter operates on. Inside the Windows device manager, under the USB to Serial Adapter proerties, there is an advanced tab. Inside the advanced tab you can change the somm port that the USB to serial adapter emulates under. Change this to comm port 1 and restart the EASunlock appliation and configure it for comm port 1.

Also, can anyone tell me why they are buying cables off of ebay instead of my website? Is it cost? or just knowledge of my website?

Thanks,

Hi Storey, I got my cable off eBay because at the time I was unaware of your website.

However looking at it now, on the plus side yours are 10' long whereas the one I got off eBay was about half that length. The cable costs are about the same (~£20), shipping cost is the main difference. The ones on eBay are from the UK and shipped FOC, your shipping is from the USA and costs £10.

Personally I would have paid the extra shipping for one of yours just for the extra 5' cable length.

Good job on the s/w BTW !

Just to update you all, I managed to order another serial cable from RS Components, which did the job. I did not change the com port settings.
Everything is back to normal, the read faults were " the car has moved" and pressure to high..."
not surew what this means. anyway going for a quick drive to test things out!
Thanks again to all that helped out!
