Hi landy lovers.. Oh well....its like waiting to be shot in the back of your head I suppose... and ive just been shot!!!... 1998 2.5 dse..down on its knees and wont get up!!.... been on yoytube ect and done the 'over heat in the compressor test' and the '7 and 9 pin test on the plug test'.. and even the ' cross the termanal under the relay test'.. witch are all good!.. so now im a little stumped.. can any one help me as I havnt got a clue now.. as always your comments and opinions are very much appriciated ... many thanks stuart

You need to get the faults read to give us a hint.

Go to Rangerovers.net and find out about the jumperwire method of getting the car up off the bumpstops and check if your compressor is worn out.

Have you noticed it dropping over night or anything prior to the hard fault? It's all very well resetting the fault but you need to fix the problem, or it will just fault again.

err.... well.. there is nothing on the dash.. no fault message.. when I did the link wire under relay test the compressor did run... i did only run for 2 or 3 mins... but the car did not even try to rise... do i need to to run the by pass for longer??.. no sinkage over night or nothing... just went to the oasis gig at the eden here in cornwall (fantastic gig) droped the car to let me sister out .. (she is such a short arse) went to go home and it wont go back up!!.. i blame noal and liam my self ..hA HA.. by the way.. I see pc leads and stuff on ebay for eas faults.. is this the type of thing i need???

When you run the compressor, it charges the pressure reservoire. To raise the vehicle enough pressure has to be in the reservoire AND you need to shut all the doors and boot, or else it will never raise. Have a look on Rangerovers.net at the faults and fixes area, it's full of really useful info.

Keep us informed.

Chris
