Recently I've had some dreaded EAS issues to troubleshoot. One of my methods is to directly inflate a bag by pulling the line out of the valve block and connecting it to a car-valve then inflating it with my tyre-inflator compressor. Unfortuantely the couplings I got off a well known auction site were leaking and making pinning down the fault exceedingly tricky. So, I had a little browse on the web to see if I could find some quality fittings. I did so I thought I'd share my findings so others don't waste their time chasing ghosts.

The company I found were called Norgren. See Norgren - Experts in Pneumatics and Fluid Control

They make fittings for trucks and also aircraft among other things. I rang them and they were amazingly helpful, finding a distributor near me (Aylesbury branch of Welcome to Activ-Air :: Activ-Air: Compressed air solutions in the South of England) and told them to sort me out. They certainly did! The fittings I got were the black plastic ones. Superb quality. I even got a gauge to test my main reservoir and they threw in a load of 6mm and 8mm tubing for free. As cheap as the ones I got off aforesaid auction site as well but much better quality. Seriously recommend them if you're trying to track down EAS issues. Only thing they didn't sell were the car valves but you can get those off the usual suspects on flea-bay.

As it turned out all bags were OK but never mind! I did finally track the fault down to the compressor!

Hope that helps,

J
