Hi Guys, me again.
The good old EAS now!!. I had a problem with slow rise about two months ago and after numerous checks it seemed to be the compressor seal which I replaced and it worked fine.
I now have exactly the same symptoms but have checked the compressor seal and it seems fine. I have rebuilt the valve block and there seems to be no visible leaks (with soapy water). I have disconnected the EAS at high height and left it for a week with no drop at all (not bags?).
The compressor runs hot (almost too hot to touch) but when I disconnect the blue tubing going into the valve block there is air shooting out (not sure what pressure it should be).
Do you think the compressor has simply had it's day?
It couldn't be the brushes could it?.
The car always seems to drop just below the selected height every time i turn the ignition off (ie always flashing when ignition is turned back on).

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Replacment seal failed or a leak somewhere. Not unusual for the suspension to drop a little if not parked on a perfectly level surface as the BECM will try to level the car every 6 hours

Hi. If the electric motor is running hard enough to make the compressor too hot to touch, I guess no problems with the brushes.
After doing work on my valve block I too had a slow rise rate. (ooh matron!). Anyway stripped it again, cleaned it again, and now seems ok. I think I was over doing the grease on the seals?? It only needs a touch not a series size handful. Since yours was initially ok may not be this but could the warmer weather be making any ecess grease more mobile? As we know the seatings are miniscule and there`s not a lot of power in those solenoids.

Ok thanks, I may try taking the block apart again and checking. The only think I didn't do was use loctight on the blocks?????. I am getting air out of the compressor but I am not sure if it is producing enough?.
Those seals were a pain in the rectum.
Would the air escaping be visible? (with soapy water) if I took the block out of the plastic casing and sprayed the bugger??

Thanking you:doh:

As you say doesn`t sound like leak between valve block and air springs if car stays up. Maybe check again for leak around tank side before stripping block again. Best leave that til later. I just revisited Mr Wilson`s excellent site: on his vid "repessurising EAS system" he says with empty tank, and door open to stop movement the pump should fill tank in 10/15 min. If your pump about this time no worries.
If slower than this maybe recheck pump seals. I sympathise if you got to `cause they are a cow. How-ever I got a suggestion before that. And it`s free!! Maybe air dryer`s a bit gummed up? Stripped mine cleaned and replaced in under an hour including errors and a cuppa.
Disconnect pipes, take dryer indoors. Holding dryer over large tray unscrew top. spring insde will push top off and pellets inside tend to spill out. ( I did this over bare garage floor..fool). Gently blow dust away from pellets.I washed and thoroughly dried filters. While filters drying I dried off pellets in oven at 90`C. That was in middle of damp winter and seemed to me a good idea to start with clean dry system, and hopefuly avoid any contamination from dust, condensation and pump working against dirty filters.
Can`t say this is any form of miracle cure but surely can do no harm and prevent dirt water in system...?
