definitions can get a bit blurred on this issue.
i suppose generally you can say that green lanes are open to the public and the vehicle should be road legal.

offroad is just that. generally private land/no public access, and vehicles need not be road legal. ie quarrys for playing/fun days.

im sure others here will give more knowledgeable definitions.
 
pretty much as above :)
green lanes are still generally public routes of access and some are classed as part of the queen's highway.
 
Green lanes are generaly in my small experiance easy to drive, as they others have said unmaid roads, and off road can be anything else to test your vehicle to its max and beyond...
