Sounds a bit too drastic for me with no spare washers hanging around. They've been fine though so got away with it.
It was well stretched when I got it off, certainly not reusable.
I've popped the bonnet for a looksee every day since I've done it and all is bone dry but I did replace both leak offs to number 1 at the same time so not going to say its cured yet, still early days.

Still bone dry. I'm confident that it was the leaky injector washer , hot escaping gasses attacking the rubber? That made the rubber go soft and leak diesel?
So confident I am that it's fixed that I've refitted the pretty plastic cover that hides the injectors.

Ffs!
Literally 5 mins after my post above I went out to take the Doris shopping and it wouldn't start :vb-lol:
Had a quick look and loads of air in the clear line, couldn't see the leak offs cos the pretty cover is back on!
Can hear the intank pump running.
Will investigate later...

Worth fitting a non-return valve if it doesn't have one. The original pumps had one at the tank end but the replacement ones don't.

Throw the cover away.
No, it's pretty. :vb-lol:
Anywhoo, had a looksee, fuel around the top of the injector, spill pipes looked fine, well was dry.
Sprayed some wd40 about with the engine running and lots of big bubbles around the base of the injector again. So removed it and had a good look, head seat looked fine, the new copper washer looked fine but I did notice a slight pip on the injector itself, barely anything, but I dressed that flat, another new washer and buttoned it all back up.
Slight pip is at 3 '0'clock.
