But it is drainable? Stock 8274 can pull 480 amps, alt as you say is 140, so flat out you are emptying the battery quicker than the alt can refill it?

Can yes, it might for a mili second. It will not pull that over a sustained period. without googling it i couldn't tell you what amps a standard motor pulls.

I suspect it will lye within the capacities of a decent-ish 2nd alt though.
