Hi to all.
Had my td4 freelander now for 7 years done the usual faults, slave and master cylinder, clutch, wiper motor arms, window regulators etc,but today i changed my drivers side driveshaft, the new one came with a abs ring that i was told to remove as my cv joint did not have one.anyway all changed and ready for test drive only to hear a metalic grinding noise comming from the shaft area, then the dreaded 3 light came on,is there a trick that i missed out about the abs sensor?,seems like i either damaged the sensor when placing the joint into the hub?,or maybe the shaft is the wrong one?,but was told it was correct, any help what so ever is welcomed as dont want to purchase new sensor only for it to happen again!!.
Thanks to all in advance....
Matthew..

Hi.
Does anyone know if the abs system on the td4 has a drive off the engine as that metal grinding noise goes with the engine speed??, as soon as i pull the abs fuse out the noise totally goes??, the noise sounds like a spline is catching on something??..
Thanks Guys.....

Thats what i thought at first so took the shaft back out and replaced it fully home but still the same?, and cant understand why it goes when i pull the abs fuse out??.
Thanks...

When you say air gap on the abs sensor ( EXCUSE MY IGNORANCE) but what do you mean? and how do i get out of the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Matt.
