Hi folks
I am back on the road again thanks to deangermouse with a new back light which had been knicked over Christmas. Simultaneously with the lamp disappearance I noticed the drivers door window (passenger side in UK) stopped working. I hoped the two were linked (and maybe they are) but despite fitting a new lamp cluster the window still doesnt work. There is no motor buzzing or clicking at all - it seems dead. All other windows are OK. I cannot myself see a connection but the fact it all happened exactly at the same time does make me wonder whether indeed there is a link. There were no obvious signs of wire tampering behind the light.

Where to start looking for faults? The door? The switches?

Just puzzled by this. I regularly take the toll motorway to Toulouse and with a non opening driver window it is just a bit cac!

Any advice welcomed!

Thanks

I would not think the window was at all connected to the rear light cluster I think it is just coincident and more thank likely the window mechanism it self, have you look at this?

No Not investigated yet - just thinking about circumstance and clues. Will have a go at the weekend

Hi

All fixed - if only all problems wiere this straightforward! I took the door trim off, cleaned all the connections - and it worked!

Plain old damp whether is the cause I expect (yes even here). I had a lot of water in the tool compartment at teh back after heavy rain a month ago and I suspect things just got a bit corroded.

Nice to have a window again!
