Bad sound coming from tunnel when clutch is fully down but not in gear, not there when in gear and driving or when idling out of gear.

Sound like clutch or gear box fault looming?

Any suggestions greatly received. Taking the beast to Aylmers on Saturday!

Well, it's not easy to get at unless you take the gearbox off the engine block. In which case you might as well do the clutch anyway. Mine's a little talkative now, especially first thing in the morning. I assume it's either the release bearing or the spigot where the gearbox input shaft goes in the hole in the back of the flywheel/crank. When they've really gone, the noise on putting your foot on the clutch can be quite overpowering. So it sounds like you're not quite there yet.
