I have decided after much deliberation that I am going to rebuild and re-skin my doors at about £200 rather than spending £504 on two brand new ones, although, it is very tempting, but I think I would rather spend the money on something mechanical or new tyres or something.
So the question is, has anyone seen a good door re-skin, did it look good? With patience and careful work can you achieve a new door look and feel? Ive fixed one before but not a re-skin. So my intention is to cut out all the old frames while still on the old skins, and rebuild them, once solid I will then strip off the old skin and put the frames into the galvanisers. Then the new skins can be primed and sealed before being attached to the frames to reduce changes of galvanic corrosion.
