Disco (300) has just returned from a 4000 miler, which took us actually into
the Sahara - making for some proper Landie photo opportunities, until the
point where my camera packed up with sand ;(
No worries at all from the car, except that one day the driver's door
decided to stop closing first time. The only "trick" which made it work was
to have it open, lock it and unlock it using the button, then close it, when
it would latch. The servo (i.e. the plip) couldn't pull the button down
though, so leaving the car had to involve using the key, then the plip to
set the alarm.
A Spanish dealer relaced the lock for me, after dire warnings about the door
bursting open which didn't convince me, but I wanted to be safe rather than
sorry. So, driver's door now fine.
However...
Along the way, my passenger opened (or closed) his door *while* I was
operating the lock on mine. Now his door handle will only operate if
somebody holds the button up.
The dealer said this would also need a new lock, but it feels to me more
like something's just come out of alignment. Anybody got experience of this?
