Bought a set of door locks to renew my battered old ones as they were rather well worn. Fiddled about in the cold for a while and got the drivers door lock changed.
Confession time - it all does work OK now it's back together (better actually as I fixed a few problems) but I'm sure when I took the lock lever mechanism apart I may have lost a bit.
One thing is that my lock levers aren't orange plastic like those depicted in Buster's guide, they are instead metal, and with less individual pieces then the plastic ones.
Can't find an exploded diagram anywhere of my lock-lever type, can only find one in RAVE manual of plastic type. It is a 1990 Defender 90. Looked through Paddocks and Craddocks but can't find any replacement parts for the lock levers either. Does anyone know of a diagram for my lever type as it'd help identify whether I may have lost a small part, perhaps a washer or spacer.
One more thing is that while the lock works OK, it is a little loose now, it can be pulled in and out by 1-2mm which the old one never did and the passenger side does not do. And it does not turn as freely as it used to, it can be rather stiff when turning.
Cheers.
