Series III I believe, however there are some SIII's with earlier type hinges. Probably using up supply. Of course there is no such thing as a Defender type hinge. The Defender is naturally using the Series III hinges, seeing as the Defender didn't exist until 1990 
I am assuming the OP is referring to the later style more rounded and bulbous hinges fitted to the defender models.Series III I believe, however there are some SIII's with earlier type hinges. If anyone has a full set of series two hinges, preferably with the wing mirror holes, I have a crisp twenty pound note and a two finger kitkat at the ready.
