Hi all. I have just bought my second Freelander. A 5 door TD4 Facelift this time for £4300 . On buying and picking it up I found the passenger rear door check has a problem so knocked £150 off for this. I have done a search on here about this and found nothing that lets me know what I am going to find. It is the B pillar end that is causing the problem. Is it welded on the inside before I go tearing it apart. Very bad at the moment and much more use and the door is not going to shut! Thanks in advance. :)

Hi mate

I had a similar problem a while ago. The checkstrap had gone really tight and the previous owner had left it. Eventually it broke from inside the pillar and I had to get it welded. The other door has gone tight now but I'll replace the checkstrap before it does the same again.

So my advice remove the checkstrap and get a new one but check it hasn't broke the weld part in the pillar.

How much are the straps and is there anyone that does them apart from Landy dealers as I am in Spain. So I need mail order.
Thanks for the reply.
