Does anyone know if veg oil mixed with derv will damage TD5

I would like to run my TD5 on a 50/50 veg oil/diesel mix, It worked a treat on my 200tdi! The only draw back is the smell of chips cooking wherever you go, There are lots of old posts saying that it damages the injectors and fuel pump, has anyone had any recent experiences running on veg oil?
