Special tools needed. Adaptor for pump, DTI and crank locking pin. And of course the knowledge of how to do it. If you had the tools you could follow the instructions in RAVE. Basically it sets the pump piston slightly on cam with delivery valve starting to open. If the chains stretch it retards the static injection. Automatic advance is controlled by internal pump pressure when the engine is running. The advance solenoid only has limited movement, about 12 degrees, this is only used for cold start along with an high idle setting for control collar. So when the engine is hot if static is out no advance is possible until engine is running and there is no high idle fuel setting being used either. Hence bad starting
