I recently bought a brand new Disco Landmark, which I love, BUT I'm not sure the heating is working properly and I'm wondering if anyone else has the same issue.

If I set it on 28, manually not climate control or automatic, it takes about 10 minutes before it blows any warmth, stays warm (not hot) for about 10 minutes, then blows cold. The only time it blows constant heat is on the HI setting which is too much after a while - then if I reduce it to 28 it blows cold.

Is this normal or just my car?

Blimey,

Welcome to the loonyzone, not sure anyone else has anything so spanky new as that...... What does the dealer say?

Cheers

I can't be the only loon buying a new Land Rover??? If so it looks like I'll fit in right well here!

Dealer says they recalibrated blower motor and did software update and tested it and it's just how they are. But none of the courtesy cars they've loaned me have gone from warm to cold. And they heat up a lot quicker than mine too.

Does sound like there is something different about yours...Did you point this out to the dealer? If no joy then I would be tempted to try calling LR directly if you can. Also, not wanting to sound like you are not welcome here, because you obviously are...but are there no model specific forums for the later Disco's , I know there are for D3's I assume the later ones have them as well. As they may be more help on a specific problem for yours.

I would not be impressed if i got a nice shiny new toy and it was not working correctly......the Dealer would be sick of me living in their showroom.

Cheers

Thanks, I'll take a look online. I got JLR involved as it's been in twice now, they're just liaising between me and the dealer. I'm certainly not impressed and despite my heart loving the car I can't live without warmth. I'll do a bit of research online.....

Many thanks.

Might be worth putting a question in the Discovery section ( it tends to get more traffic than the intro section ) but making the title includes brand new 2016 model. Then people will know more what vehicle it involves.

Good luck.

Cheers

Hi Deejaydee - did you have any update on this problem? I've also got a landmark which seems to be doing something similar. The cabin does heat up for first 15 mins or so but never really gets very warm and then blowers seem to blow cooler air. It also seems that hotter air comes from the central blowers but the ones by the windows seem to be cooler.

Unfortunately we're in France at the moment so haven't had a chance to go to a Land Rover garage to get it checked out.

(I've also noticed that when auto climate is selected both the auto and AC lights come on. Not sure if that is normal since it's pretty cold at the moment but am guessing it just means it would apply AC if the cabin temp was too high. There does seem to be a setting which has auto without AC being lit).

Hi RussMc, JLR confirmed that the cabin will heat to the chosen temperature then will produce cool air to keep the temperature stable. I must say that whatever the dealer did has actually helped and the temp does seem better but it will still blow cold air after a while. And same as your's, the side air vents blow colder. So I keep it on high in this cold weather (prob colder than France!) and turn it off when I overheat. Not ideal but as the car is just what I wanted I'll compromise on this one issue.
