Discovery handbrake cable type

People Hi,

Could someone please confirm that there are just two types of cable for the
operation of the handbrake on Discovery vehicles from 1989 up to 1998? (when
the model changed to the series 2 type)

The first one being STC1528 which has two clevis pin secured sides one on
the handbrake lever and one on the drum operating bracket which is mounted
on the side of the transfer box

and

the second being NTC6125 which has one side with a clevis pin secured side
on the handbrake lever and the other side is shaped like a long thin bolt
and is secured inside the handbrake drum.

Am I correct on the above?

There were four types - now superceeded to three. NTC9400 to KA055568,
NTC6125 KA055569 to LA081991 - These are much the same and are for the
"rod operated" (at the drum end) type of handbrake and have a big
locknut at the handbrake end. After MA081992 (300Tdi) the cable goes
to STC1528 which is the "direct entry" type.

I guess apart from not quoting the very first type I also mixed the other
two stating the later type (STC1528 "direct entry type") as the one
compatible with the second batch of 200Tdi type Discos.

The funny thing is that at least here in Greece several vehicles which
supposedly should use the third type (direct entry) have handbrakes that
require the NTC6125.

I guess there was a surplus of old type handbrake assemblies so they found
their way to a few 300Tdi type (1995-1998 MY) vehicles.
