discovery enginge stall

hi i have a discovery (k reg) 200 tdi

i have an intermittent engine cut out.

driving along and the engine just dies (as if no fuel) i checked the diesel filter and replaced the filter fuel in the filter so i know fuel is getting this far at least. i turn the key it starts and then ill be able to drive 50 feet or so then it will do it again and so on if i leave the car over night or to cool down for a 4 5 hours its back to normal

it could happen at any time i could drive all day and it dont do it but then when it starts to cut out it will be like that until i leave it.

sounds to me like a problem i had, replaced my fuel stop solenoid an it cured it, 5 min job...

i have replaced the fuel lift pump and soloniod still doing it im lost for ideas. have also checked for diesel leaks

check the plastic drain plug in the bottom of the fuel filter is snug and air tight

Could be the power the stop solenoid being cut rather than the solenoid itself,try running a tempory feed direct from the battery and see what happens
