Discovery 1 Allisport aluminium expansion tank

Looking to replace the black plastic original, have been told these aluminum ones aid cooling and as they are one piece are not prone to splitting under pressure.

Also want to know if you can get silicone hoses for a V8 as they are only ever advertised for tdi td5 i.e. diesel

Good luck!

My header split in spectacular fashion. Persuaded Mrs AWP to let me have an Allisport expansion tank. Beautiful bit of kit. So much so that I ordered a full width intercooler one week later.

Nice pics I'm on my second plastic expansion tank, hence wanting the allisport tank, I believe it improves cooling, is this the case?

I too was thinking of one of these but during a convo about them the other day - a good point was raised.

We hear many-a-tale of 300tdi header tanks bursting etc. A lot of this can be put down to the high pressure release caps failing, therefore finding the next weakest point which is obviously the header tank itself.
So where will be the next weakest point be if you've a header tank such as this one fitted and the cap fails to release the high pressure? :boom:
