I have a range Rover p38 hse 1996.
I bought it about 6 months ago and the person I bought it off said he had disconnected the sunroof due to it having problems.
I am now keen to fix it. But can't seem to find how it has been disconnected. I have checked all the fuses, centre control panel for wiring and the motor behind the interior light.

After more researching, it may have been disabled on the BECM.
Is it possible for me to check to see if this is the issue; and if so enable the sunroof on the BECM?

no I don't have a diagnostics.
Is there any way of definitely knowing that it is the BECM. I don't want to have to pay for a mechanic if it is something I can fix myself

Forget a mechanic unless he has the correct diagnostics to read the becm.
It's the usual case of turning off the sunroof in the becm to stop all the messages of sunroof not set especially if the roof has a fault.

I'm not getting any fault messages.
Does that mean that it has been disconnected another way? Not through the becm

No, it means it's been turned off in the BECM to stop the messages.
Go buy a Nanocom, you will save yourself a fortune. There was one in the for sale section the other day.
