Hi all!

I’m new to registering to landy zone so I dunno if I’ve done this right but here it goes!
I’ve got a 2000 Discovery 2 TD5 on 163000 miles, not so long ago I was doing around 600-620 miles to a tank about 32 MPG but then about mid way October last year it just all of a sudden dropped and started doing 500 to a tank about 24 mpg, it’s not my right foot as I can be miss daisy all day long
I’ve replaced the MAF sensor as it was faulty, EGR deLeted before all this anyway, new second hand intercooler, tried new MAP sensor ran fuel cleaner through and seemed to make a difference
Anybody got any ideas as it’s just click from 32 to 24? I’m thinking maybe injector wear and sticking what’s everybody else’s poor experience and knowledge??
TIA
Cheers

Welcome to LZ.:)

This section is for Introductions, a vehicle specific query like that will get more attention in the Discovery section,

Hi there and welcome!
I don't know about the figures, but colder weather affects mpg, also if you've got a broken thermostat that's stuck open
Yes I did sort of think the same thing so I replaced the thermostat with a genuine LR one, it’s had a genuine LR water pump as well and coolant flush, still no dudferende

Bloody he’ll that is poor I seem to find people with these are ever doing great like 32 or poor between 21-24 no in between and I just wonder what makes the difference

The Auto tends to hold lower gears to help accelerate, mine wouldn't change below 2600rpm which meant most of the time it was revving the tits off itself which leads to poor Urban economy, worst urban was 17mpg IIRC..
With a mix or town and country i get 21 and motorway is 28-30..

My V8 gets around same!!!!

Manuals are quite a bit more economical i believe..
