Hi all, just registered glad i did, picked up loads of info already. I have a 2001 v8 disco es. & have had 2 problems with it, 1 i have just fixed myself. I was losing power massivley and this was proving dangerous as it would just lose all power half way up a hill or something. I took her down to land rover in chester, and they told me it was the air mass meter. This could be purchased from them for 98 quid plus the vat & would take an hour to fit, 90 quid an hour! i got the part number trawled ebay, and my new mass meter turned up today for a total cost including postage of 30 quid! and less than 5 minutes to fit! the car is running like the dogs conkers again. So that has made me want a go at problem 2, my remote central locking has gone, its been to an auto sparky and its the receiver/sensor in the roof that has gone, just in front of the rear sunroof. My question is that if i buy a new receiver and replace it myself are my keys registered to the car or the current receiver? will i still have to go to landrover to get them coded, or should it start working with a new unit??
