Hi all.

Had the V8 for a number of years now and the suspension is as saggy as my grannies boobs. So I thought why not be adventurous and replace the suspension but get a lift at the same time.

So I am looking for some advice on the pros and cons, the ins and outs and what else I would need to consider (wheels, tyre sizes, brakes).

Also any websites that sell the kits at good prices would be most appreciated.

I am guessing this has been covered many times so some links to old postings is also appreciated.

Many Thnaks in advance.

Dave

paddocks are good. sell you a whole 2"lift for £250ish. pros are, it looks cool greater aproch, departure breakover angles, it looks cool, you can fit bigger tyres and, it looks cool. cons are, more likly to daamge roof with trees and stuff, and handling will be slightly different. but it looks cool so go +2". i wouldn't advise anything higer because it gets really expensve really quick. eg after 3" you need longer brake lines cranked radius arms, dislocation cones double kardon uj's etc etc. to do a 4" lift you could spend a grand to do it properly wheras 2" is a nice compromise Paddock Spares - Land Rover, Range Rover Parts & Accessories - Discovery, Defender and Freelander

Thanks for that Tom69. A few more detailed questions.

Looking through the website I can see I need the springs, the shocks but do I need the poly bush kit. I suspect I do but being new to this I have to ask.

Also The steering is as slack as a yak also so would the steering damper be the right change to make here. I see paddocks have one for £28 +VAT.

thanks for the advice

Dave

Worth checking to see if other things are causeing your slack steering, could be your steering box just needs adjeusting or it could just be ur tyres are badly out of whack.

ummm. bushes are debaitable. chances are if you disco isn't knocking and banging bushes are probably ok but out of preferance id change them. espeacialy as youl have it all apart to do the lift. munsters right id be checking steering box etc rather than hoping a new damper will fix it.

check your track rod ends aswell, just jack it up and give everything a go with the prybar or turning the wheels by hand, everything will come to light then for yer.
