Hi all
As my Disco interior is in a constant state of undress, I thought I would strip the inside of all but the dash and the door cards to check for rust as I've got nowt else to do. I'd like to add that my 1998 Disco does not have electric seats or sunroofs (but it does have a leaky sunroof
) or aircon.
All seems well except for the holes in the rear door wheel arches. This isn't a problem as I have no rear seats, the seat belts have been removed and the rear seatbelt receivers are hidden under a wooden floor so the MOT place is happy that it's not a fail
But while it is all out I saw this under the driver and passenger seats, the cable under the drivers seat is only live when the ignition is on and gets the same reading as the battery. Was wondering what this would normally be there for? Also what would those mounting points be used for?
Under drivers seat
Under passenger seat
Mounting points for something but no power cable.
Under the transfer tunnel cover
At the base of the hand brake lever there is this cable with a blue connector, again it's live when the ignition is on and gets the same reading as the battery
Any ideas what these are actually meant for?
With the cable under the drivers seat, would I be able to run an extention from it to run over under the passenger seats so I have a point under both seats and then be able to put electric seats in? I presume that electric seats (for arguments sake lets say the seat controls are on the seat) just need a 12v supply??
Cheers
I also took pics of the fuse box and the cables behind the glove box in case they are of use to anyone, I'll get them up on another thread.
