Disco 2 bumper trim being a pain!

well on our disco II the plastic trim above the rear bumper on the nearside came loose at the rear door end. two of the plastic clip thingies had broken. this was about xmas time! we got the clips needed from frogs island...

fast forward to day before yesterday...
i am on my study leave and i had a spare hour, so i dug out the clips and finnaly got round to putting it back on. but i didnt because both the clips broke has anyone else had to put this bit back on and had the same trouble?? the clips break so easily, and i was being gental! at about £1.16 per clip i dont want to break anymore!

Please help someone!
