Sorry if this seems a stupid question, but -
Are the hubs the same on Discos with alloy and steel wheels? I have alloys
on the road wheels but the spare is a steel item. After a puncture in
france I managed to hobble the few kilometres to a garage with the alloy
wheelnuts holding the spare on, but I know that's not how it was designed.
I now have a set of steel wheelnuts. Will the hubs be OK with a steel wheel
and steel wheelnuts? I always assumed it would, but faced with a 500-mile
drive home on alloy nuts (I got the steel nuts immediately on return to the
UK) I began to be less sure and I'd like to be certain.
Also, did the alloy wheel Discos come from the factory with a steel spare,
or has someone half-inched it on the way?
