I think my front diff is noisy.

I could get replacement better gears at 3.50 rather than 3.54

Would this cause any problems. or would I have to do rear as well?

I think you would!!!!!!!
Otherwise it would be like you having diff lock on all the time, also I suspect ABS would act up.
But here's a weird thought, I have heard you can simply swap the front diff with the rear one, which then would put the pressure on the other side of the teeth so lengthening the time before replacement is necessary.
But I am sure peeps will come on here and shoot me down in flames for this!!!!!
 
I had been on Ashcroft site and they have front axle diff gears

Failing that may get a rear diff from a breaker
