Reet...

Intending to fit my disco rear axle soon, 24 spline, 3 bolt input flange.

Any ideas how to change the input flange over... Theres no big nut in the middle, no apparent way of removing it.

I have been told you need a rare as rockin' horse excream ent special tool to get it out, which you gotta do from inside the diff.

Anyone met this before, ideas, etc... Its the rear axle off an M reg 300TDi disco.

Ta all!

tis a piece of ****!
hold the flange with a big pair of stillsons and undo the nut with a socket on a breaker bar.
Flange just slides off the splines once the nut is off.
Swap it with the 4 bolt flange off yer existing axle and job done.
Check RAVE fer the correct torque when yer puts the nut back on.

Oh, and if I were you, I'd change the oil seal while you've got the flange off.
Just prise the old one out with a screwdriver, tap the new one in squarely with a suitable socket (42mm from memory).

Well, I've just checked the Disco workshop manual, and that shows a nut!
It is recessed inside the flange a bit - are you sure it isn't just full of mud and crap so you can't see it?

Otherwise, yes, post a piccie!
