Now my car is up and running, and very usable, it would be great to get a decent engine check done on a diagnostic, and any correction done.

I have a Hawkeye but this is limited.

Does anybody know anyone in Kent, who "knows" the diesel engine and all its crazy sensors that could check her over and get her singing sweetly?

Thanks

I suspect if it is running then it must be OK as I think it sort of tunes itself. Most of the parameters that can be set seem to mess up fairly quickly if you move them away from their current values. The fuel injection pump seems to be a bit tempermental but frankly finding an expert on that has eluded me.

A Wammers question, I think!

You could be right, it is running well except my UK has gone, so it seems!

Ah, that makes more sense.

Wouldn't it have been easier and cheaper just to buy the parts and assemble from scratch?

I probably missed the post with the symptoms but have we ruled out changing the diff / gearbox fluids? Both easy to do and worth doing anyway if you haven't already, transfer box too.

Thanks. I had a full oil service in June. In fact I checked transmission last week. All fine. Would not be confident to rebuild this part, not something I have done before.
