desperate need of help

Hi everyone I'm a newbie to this site an any advise would be appreciated. I bought a second-hand tow bar an we are having difficulty in fitting the main bracket it just don't seem to fit.Any ideas or is this a problem anyone else had. Many thanx.Its a Freelander 1 04 plate 1.8 petrol.

Remove the towing eye that is bolted to offside chassis rail, and towbar should be a snug fit between the two chassis rails, you might even have to jack it into place

Thanx for the reply but do you have to remove the rear bumper also as this seems to get in the way too.??

throw the tow bar in the bin and buy a head gasket -- much more important than the tow bar

No should all fit without touching bumper, unless facelift ( yours ) has a wrap around bumper( underneath ) ?
