defender oil leak??

Hi ppl,
this is my first defender 300 tdi and one of my many in the future questions.
has any used the stop oil leak stuff you just add to your engine oil with any sucess,
its only a tiny leak at present.
i just cant seem to find where its coming from ,
it will only be a temp fix (if the stuff works) until i degrease and jet wash it down,
oil stain was only 2 inches over night. not even that really.

Snake oil- Load of rubbish don't even think about it

On a 300tdi if its engine oil it's probably dripping out of the bell housing due to the crank oil seal, it won't get any worse and not worth all the hassle to fix it unless you change the box or clutch at the same time. Could also be rocker cover gasket, gearbox or transfer box leak

thanks jason for the quick reply,
oil is around the bottom of the bell housing?
thats more then likely why i cant find it at the top.

2 inch stain sounds a lot for the crankshaft oil seal ! Sure it's engine oil ?

Is it red ? Sounds more like pas pump/pipes etc or a combination of the two !

no its not red, clear to light brown, now the sun is coming out i might be able to see a bit better.
