Hello.

I've taken my Defender off the road for a proper sort out. I took the drivers door off today. Stripped it down to find that it's in a pretty poor state. Has anyone repaired one-piece doors? I need to take this skin off to repair the frame. Anyone know how easy it will be?

All advice would be good, i'll post some pics of my progress when I make some.

pair of nips and unfold the skin where it's wrapped round the frame. postr some piccies of the knackered door frame you may not have to remove the skin to repair it. especially if it's just the bottom of the door frame that's gone.

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping that I wouldn't need to remove the skin. But just below the window. There is a plate that seems to support the outer lower window seal. This has rusted away at one end and it is hanging down and the seal has gone with it.

Does the door skin wrap round the window aperture? It looks like it does, but I cant see how to remove the window runners from the door top. Are they glued in?

Sam.
