Hi
I'm new here and have a general question.
I bought a Defender 110 a year ago and sadly have to sell it again. Its a 2001 with 158,600 miles. I've done 3.5k miles since I bought it and for its age is very tidy inside and out.
When I bought it I was told a new rear cross bar had been fitted and now I am selling it someone has offered £550 less than I'm hoping for because they say the fact it has a new cross bar fitted devalues it.
Does anyone know if this is correct as I don't have a clue!!!!!
I've already had to drop it by £500 as my husband reversed into a tree and dented the back wing a week after I put it up for sale. :(.
I would appreciate any advice on this as this is the best offer I have had so far.
Many Thanks

Thank you. It was fitted by a Land Rover garage so I would assume it has been fitted correctly. I've never had any problem with it but haven't towed with it. Just not sure the best thing to do :(:(

Replacement doesn't devalue.

However if the rest of the chassis has had lots of patching up/welding then it could devalue the whole car

lol, where is the line between spam and advise?

at the risk of being flamed, stick a link up.
depends on too much to offer advise here, with so little known and what the offer is you've had.

lets have a look,
if it remotely looks of spam it will get canned as less than 50 posts

2001 LANDROVER DEFENDER 110 COUNTY STATION WAGON | Aberdeen | Gumtree
Ok so I paid £8000 for it a year past Nov.
Spent £450 on MOT ( Back breaks and new door lock)
I've done about 3.5K miles in the time I have had it.
I originally put it up for £7000 but dropped it to £6450 after my husband reversed into a tree.
Today someone offered me £5800 stating that the cross bar being fitted devalues it.
Opinions please, I can handle spam! lol
Thanks in advance and I hope the link works!!!!

dent may put some off- cross member is non issue if tidy

Looks like a very nice vehicle, the guy is trying it on by saying a new crossmember devalues it. Looking at similar age and condition vehicles, I would say that £6500-£7000 would be a fair price. I wouldn't let it go for much less than that.
