Hey chaps,

After some how getting mud inside my airbox both on top and underneath the air filter I've decided to upgrade it.

Its a Td5 90 so the plan is to remove the standard intake pipe -

And replace with a one peice rubber pipe -

Using very liberal amounts of sealant - Could someone suggest somthing good?

Idea is to run the new rubber pipe actually higher into the snorkel as I believe the intake-body-snorkel connection is probably the weakest in the system.

As for the turbo/top side im pretty sure this has to stay the same.

The box itself im going to remove, check for any cracks and leaks by filling it up with water and seeing if anything comes out! Check the qaulity of the rubber seal, try and improve this if I can.

Lastly also going to chop the snorkel down by a few inches and fit a Safari style head in the hopes I wont loose it again!

When I was having a quick look before there was a small rubber pipe coming off from the right on the top half running to the left side of the engine, vanishes into a bunch of cable, what is this?

Tiger seal is good stuff or rtv black sealant.
Or just leave the airbox in place, put ya hand over the intake with a rubber glove or somthing to seal it well and can soon see if it's air tight! Note I'm saying the air box not the turbo intake  haha
Show us a picture of said pipe and will try tell ya!

Engine cuts when doing that test, though mud still got in hence the 'upgrade'

Wasnt overly fond of using tiger seal as i may never get it apart again for any reason.

Ill try the RTV black
