Alright,

On the way to and from work today, i had to brake quite hard due to muppets on the road not indicating to which direction they are going. Any way, on both occasions the rear brakes (drums) locked up, and left some nice number 11's on the road.

Ive done a search on here, and found a few topics about it, most saying this is just a defender thing, and under heavey braking this does occur. Is this the case? or could it be some problem in the brake system somewhere?

The front has newish (10,000 miles ago) discs, pads and calipers, all which still look in good condition, and rear had the drums, shoes and cylinders changed at the same time.

Any Advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like all the weight transferring to the front leaving back light and wheels able to lock up

With no ABS cadence braking is needed

If brakes OK under normal conditions, I wouldn't worry too much
